CAMS data are available from two main channels.

Atmosphere Data Store

The main source is the Atmosphere Data Store (ADS). We are in a process to migrate access to all the dataset to the ADS. To access and download the data you will need to create an account at https://ads.atmosphere.copernicus.eu/user/register, if you already don't have one.

To download the data you can use either interactive web interface or CDS API for programmatic access.

To be able to follow the practical session on CAMS data access please make sure that you install the required Python library (cdsapi) and configure your API key before we start.

The following datasets are available from the ADS:

CAMS European air quality forecasts (2018 - present)

CAMS global reanalysis (2003 - 2019)

CAMS GHG flux inversions (1979 - 2020)

CAMS global emission inventories

CAMS solar radiation time-series

ECMWF data server

To access two datasets that were not migrated yet you will need to create a separate  account on the ECMWF data server:

  1. Go to https://apps.ecmwf.int/registration/
  2. Fill in your information
  3. After successful registration you should receive username and password to your email

The following datasets are currently only availalable from the ECMWF data server:

CAMS Near-real-time global forecasts (July 2012 - present)

CAMS Global Fire Assimilation System (2003 - present)
